Recommended Reads

We are passionate about fostering a genuine love of reading in all of our pupils as we believe that becoming lost in the magic of a book is an experience all children should encounter.  To support this in school, our libraries and classrooms are full of a diverse range of reading material to capture the interest all our pupils.

At home, we appreciate it can be difficult to know which books are high-quality and age appropriate for your children. These are just a few recommended reads you may like to choose from, but please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher if you would like more guidance.

Cultural Diversity in Reading

As a school we are committed to providing opportunities for pupils to develop their understanding of people from a wider range of different backgrounds, within our local community and beyond. We want to help children to understand the communities they live in and the ways they can make a positive contribution and our curriculum has been designed to help children learn about other faiths and cultures, showing sensitivity and understanding of diversity.  To support this, we have purchased a selection of books which promote cultural diversity and have weaved these into our home reading scheme so all children have the opportunity to read them. If you, as parents, wanted to purchase any of these books for your children at home, please click on the file below for the list of titles.
